Drew Johnson has consulted on a variety of matters involving patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, lost wages, wrongful death, and commercial success. His experience spans diverse industries, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, cybersecurity, and consumer and enterprise technology.

The following are examples of Mr. Johnson’s consulting work:

  • Lost profits and reasonable royalty damages analyses related to the launch of generic pharmaceuticals, multiple cases;
  • Analyses of resealable royalty damages and secondary considerations, including commercial success, related to laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
  • Reasonable royalty analysis pertaining to nucleic acid sequencing technologies;
  • Analyses of lost wages, pension, and benefits in cases of wrongful termination, injury, and death.

Prior to joining Insight Economics, Mr. Johnson worked as an analyst for a growing biotechnology firm where he constructed robust financial models to plan sustainable growth of the organization. He also consulted on the economic and technological viability of a quality control process used by a small brewery to ensure safety in reusing yeast for multiple batches of beverage.

Mr. Johnson earned a Master of Science in Commerce from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce where he specialized in biotechnology. He graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Economics and Chemistry, also from the University of Virginia.

In his free time, Mr. Johnson enjoys playing ice hockey, disc golf, and learning about aviation.
