Gabriella Olavarría graduated summa cum laude from Wellesley College with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Economics. While at Wellesley, Ms. Olavarría completed a senior thesis titled “Legally Citizens, Culturally Immigrants: Political Participation Among Mainland Puerto Ricans” and was awarded the 2025 Phillips Bradley–Louise Overacker Prize in American Politics or Law for her legal research on pretrial detainee protections.

Before joining Insight Economics, Ms. Olavarría gained experience across the legal, policy, and research sectors. She supported investigations into police misconduct at the San Francisco Department of Police Accountability, interned in the Domestic Violence Unit of the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office, and conducted cross-national economic research on gender pay gaps at the Anker Research Institute.

Outside of work, Ms. Olavarría enjoys cooking, sewing, and hiking.
