A significant percentage of our work involves litigation consulting, which entails providing support to attorneys and their clients involved in legal disputes, primarily through expert opinions offered in detailed written reports and testimony at trial. Our consultants rigorously apply their economic expertise in areas such as case analysis, strategy development, and presentation of economic theory and complex data analysis. Our matters typically involve high-stakes disputes relating to economic harm, competitive conditions, efficiency and public interest, and valuation, among other issues. In addition to litigation consulting, Insight experts and consultants advise clients on business issues such as intellectual property valuation, competitive strategies, pricing, and product launches. 

Within a legal framework, our consultants provide critical support to Insight experts by reviewing relevant case evidence (business documents and witness testimony), analyzing complex data sets, performing statistical and quantitative analysis, and developing written reports and supporting exhibits. The expert report aims to assist attorneys, judges, and juries in understanding complex economic issues related to the case, and the professional opinion rendered is ultimately supported, in the courtroom, by expert witness testimony. As such, consultants also assist with expert preparation for questioning under oath at depositions and trials, among other litigation-related projects.

Insight provides opportunities to build professional skills in data analysis and econometrics, analytical reasoning, economic research, critical thinking, and effective writing – all through varied exposure to clients, projects, and industries, and in close collaboration with our experts and senior staff.
