Frank Hinman spent 25 years practicing competition and appellate litigation at a major international law firm. He served as Co-Chair of his firm’s antitrust and appellate practice groups, as Managing Partner of its Silicon Valley office, and in ABA Antitrust Section leadership. He was rated among California’s leading antitrust lawyers by Chambers and other publications. 

In an economics-intensive practice, Frank handled all aspects of agency and private antitrust litigation, including market definition, competitive effects, class certification, Daubert challenges, damages, and appeals. He represented many leading firms across a wide variety of tech-based industries, as well as college sports leagues and healthcare, automotive, and other businesses. His appellate practice involved antitrust, products liability, employment, contract, and environmental issues, among others. 

In his consulting practice, Frank focuses on the economic-legal interface to drive clients’ matters toward a successful and efficient resolution, with an emphasis on expert reports, admissibility challenges and defenses, and deposition and trial preparation. He has worked on matters related to patent damages, patent misuse, commercial success, false advertising, business torts, and injunctive relief for firms in the pharmaceutical, medical, Internet security and semiconductor industries.

Frank has a B.A. in economics, cum laude, from Claremont McKenna College and a J.D. from UC Law San Francisco (formerly Hastings). He is retired from the practice of law.
